Simplify Web Pages for Reading With TidyRead

I read a lot online, including a lot of short fiction magazines and websites with lengthy articles but I’m often put off by the page layouts or design when what I really want is the text.
Previously I’ve cut and paste text and put it on my ereader,  I’ve written scripts to scrape the text automatically [...]

Free Tutorial Book – The Complete Guide to Google Wave

I’ve had a Google Wave account for a little while now but haven’t really had a chance to spend much time playing with it. To be honest I fired it up, thought “OK what now” and promptly forgot about it.
Partly this is because it’s not immediately clear how best to use the thing and partly [...]

Nokia N900 On the Way

Nokia are releasing a new model in their line of internet tablets, this time with GSM/Cellular connectivity as well as the usual wireless options. 32GB on board, GPS, ARM Cortex, 5MP camera….forget the Apple tablet, I want.

Shiny New Toy

Have been feeling ill the last few days so it was nice surprise when the postman turned up with a nice new gadget for me to play with.

Cool Japan Tech Blog

Thanks to my mate Dan for pointing me towards Pink Tentacle, a nice little tech blog with just the right strange mix of subjects that I like to read.
I’m particularly liking the cthulu-esque picture of octopi hung out to dry.

The Great AnitVirus Swindle

I don’t use antivirus software…..
Doesn’t seem like much of an admission I know but its surprising the reaction that can be received from such a simple statement.
I recently posted such a statement in a forum and was faced with incredulity, called irresponsible and suggested that this sort of opinion was the reason that viruses last [...]

Just now….

..I’ve mostly been watching webbalert.
A decent daily five minute roundup of tech news delivered by Morgan Webb, one of those attractive female geeks whispered about behind server stacks.

XBMC + Firefox + DivX Stage 6 = Nice Streaming TV

UPDATE: As of 28th Feb 2008, Divx Stage 6 has ceased to be so streaming TV from stage 6 to XBMC is no longer possible.
Ok so I’ve spent so long playing with the Wii browser and using it as a media centre that I’d kind of ignored my nice old chipped xbox [...]

Watch out…..

For that blob of radiation.
Ben Goldacre with his usual rational thoughts on the latest scare story…..evil wifi.
