The 2000AD range of comics have been available in digital form for a while now at ClickWheel which hopefully should attract a new audience to the galaxy’s greatest comic and keeps people who read a lot digitally like me happy. Just recently they have released a new digital only comic “2000AD Origins”, as [...]

Literate Machine is a handy looking site allowing the authors of various digital media (magazines, ebooks, comics, art) to upload and distribute their work either free or for a charge with the site taking a small cut.
I love platforms for media that might not necessarily find homes with traditional publishers and something like this could be great for [...]

I’ve been usng Wowio.com for a while now as they had a nice service which provided free PDF downloads of ebooks and comics with embedded advertising and user information so you didn’t go spreading them around. It worked well and they have a decent selection of books and comics with quite a few very good [...]

Another freebie from the ever generous Cory Doctorow. This one has been out for a few weeks now but I still haven’t had a moment of that oh so elusive spare time to read it yet.
Nevermind I enjoy short stories in general and Cory’s short stories have always been an enjoyable read, so a comic [...]

One of the best however is MySpace Dark Horse Presents, the online 2nd volume of what was Dark Horse Comic’s [...]

My recent rediscovery of comics has led me to have another look at some of the Manga available to see if there was anything I particularly liked.
Not knowing where to start, I had a hunt around and found One Manga, a really useful site which hosts an absolute ton of Manga ready to read right [...]

The (mostly) self published comic series Elfquest has been around since 1978 so there is a massive universe to catch up on. Thankfully the creators have seen fit to publish the entire series online for free.
I’m not hugely into fantasy comics but this series has plenty of fans so I’ll be having a read, and [...]

I’ve been enjoying the first episode of this Warren Ellis penned free comic book, a nice read for a few spare minutes.
There isn’t a huge amount to comment on yet but the premise is interesting, the artwork is great and I always enjoy Warren Ellis’ writing so I’ll keep reading.

I’d forgotten about this one I mentioned earlier. It’s a comic book series that is being published for free online at the same time that it hits the shelves in dead tree form.
The story is set in a future North America in the grip of a new Ice Age.
Head over to Myspace to read it [...]
