Free Retro Gaming Magazine Scans - CGW

Computer Gaming World was apparantly the first magainze devoted entirely to computer games, starting way back in 1981.
CGW Museum is a great site for info on the mag but more importantly you can download fully searchable PDF copies of the first 100 issues of the magazine. This is a great resource for information on old [...]

Loads of Free Science Fiction ebooks

Baen books are well known on the internet for giving away free ebooks of their printed releases  in order to gain new sales of the printed versions. You can find a selection of their books in the Baen Free Library.

This Week I Have Been Mostly Listening To…

Deer Tick - War Elephant
Ok so its country, well alt-country to be more specific but I can’t help liking it. The fella is about twenty one and sings like he has been smoking whisky soaked cigars for about twenty of those years.

They are planning on a new Doctor Who series next year which could be interesting assuming they can cast the parts well.
We are [...]

Free Speculative Fiction Quarterly

HelixSF is a another place to get an online fix of short fiction. I’ve been reading a few of the stories here and its certainly worth a read.
Those of you who read short fiction and particularly short science/speculative fiction will know that print based publications have been on the decline for many years. I see [...]

Free Online PC Kart Racing Game

Kart Rider is an online multiplayer Kart Racing game in the style of….well all Kart racing games since Mario Kart. To say it has borrowed a few ideas from the little Italian plumber is an understatement but given how much fun those games are thats not a bad thing. I’m sure most people know the [...]

Free 3D Rendering and Animation Software

I’ve been playing with Daz Studio for a few weeks now and it really is fun if you want to try your hand at 3D art without having to learn to model which quite frankly is insanely difficult. I am determined to teach myself Maya or 3D Studio Max but this is a little bit [...]
