Free 3D Rendering and Animation Software
I’ve been playing with Daz Studio for a few weeks now and it really is fun if you want to try your hand at 3D art without having to learn to model which quite frankly is insanely difficult. I am determined to teach myself Maya or 3D Studio Max but this is a little bit of fun until I can spare the time.
The software allows you to load models plus extra bits and pieces which change the appearance of these models and then pose them all in a scene and render it to an image. Apparantly you can also animate but I’ve not yet tried that. Its basically the same idea as the old Poser software except they are giving it away free in the hope that you will buy lots of models and addons from the site. However as the software takes Poser files, there is already a vast amount of content available for free which you can use in Daz Studio.
Ok its not full 3D modelling but at this price you can’t really complain. It will at least give you an idea of how 3D art works before you shell out for an expensive piece of software and you can create some decent images with this.
Once I’ve created something I’m not entirely embarassed by I’ll post it. ![]()
