This week I have mostly been watching…..
Idiocracy - Don’t bother, there is a reason this film has been released with next to no publicity. It is a seriously bad ’satire’ on the dumbing down of society which has strangely received some half decent reviews. I found it pointless.
Click - Comedy about a man who receives a remote control for his life. Its a predictable cautionary tale which is actually quite a lot darker than you would first assume. Not bad, entertaining but forgetable.
Thank You For Smoking - An actual satire……without the quotes 
This one is about a spin doctor for the american tobacco companies and also his relationships with various people most notably his son. I don’t think there is much to be learned here….Tobacco companies lie lots, duh….but it made me laugh. Surprisingly not a single cigarette is seen smoked in the film however I imagine this is intentional on the part of the director. Great characters throughout and some great performances.
